Melcher-Dallas Rental Housing Property Owners

The city recently passed a Rental Housing Inspection Ordinance.  All rental properties will be required to be registered with the city, will have to pass inspection and will be issued a three-year permit to operate. In addition to registration of the property, all tenants inside the rental unit(s) must be listed on the tenant registration form. For the purpose of registration, a rental unit is classified as any unit that is not occupied by the legal owner of the property. Family members living in a rental unit will not exempt the property from the requirement to obtain a permit.
